Portraits with Santa

Why wait in a mall line for portraits with Santa.  You end up waiting for 20 minutes or longer before you get up to the front. Your family has less than 5 minutes.  You or someone else puts your child on his lap, your kid screams and then they snap a picture and send you on your way so they can push along the next family.

Kids need time to adjust, warm up to Santa and the new surroundings.   I have two type of Santa Sessions:

Most popular is The CD session.  It is a 25 minute session with Santa and me for only $75! ...

You and your family will have 25 minutes with Santa so your kid can warm up to him. I will have a few different setups. Pictures of the other setups will be posted closer to December.

You will get the Slide show DVD to watch on your own DVD player or on your computer. A CD with 5 pictures with rights to print and some facebook images for you to share with family and friends.

Then there is the Email Session, it too is a 25 minute session but it is only $30! You and your family will have 25 minutes with Santa, I will have a few different backgrounds set up and you will get 2 pictures sent to you by email with rights to print up to 8x12 in size. Plus a few facebook images.

Date and times are posted on my facebook page.

A $15 deposit must be paid to hold your spot by November 17th. If your deposit isn't paid by then your spot will be removed. You can pay it by paypal or in person with cash or check. Deposits are used towards the session fee and are not refundable. If you call me 24 hours before to reschedule your appointment then we will use your deposit towards that date. No more than 3 kids per spot. $10 extra per additional kid.

If you would like to have Santa hand your child a gift during the session please drop it off at my studio at least 2 days before. It will make it run smoother for Santa and you. The only ones that can bring gift with the child is when the children are 3 and under. Thank you!

How much do you vaule a family portrait?

I have a confession....I was guilty of not having a current family portrait.  Yes, a family photographer who couldn't seem to get a family portrait.  Always finding a reason why we couldn't all be in the picture.  When I did want one something would come up and my husband would have to go to work or one of the kids was sick.  Then when we had the time there would be other reason like: I didn't like my hair, or I was tired from my other job.  So last week I scheduled my family a time for portraits.  Yes I had to schedule portraits with myself.  It didn't turn out the way I saw it in my mind's eye,  but it is a family portrait of all 5 of us!

Took a total of 2 minutes to gather my family and take 4 pictures with my remote to capture this.

The last time we had a family portrait was a few months after my father passed away.  That is when I felt I needed a family portrait, I thought to myself  " what if something happened to me, what if something happened to Josh?  Wouldn't my kids like to have a picture of all 5 of us to look back on"

This picture was taken by my Mom just a few months after my father passed away.

Remember your family portrait isn't just for you.  It is for your kids, for your grandkids.  No one will look back and say, oh Grandma was over weight here, or look at his smile he needs braces.  They are going to look back and say "what a nice family portrait"

Exisitng in Portraits for your children.........

How important is family portraits to you?  How important do you think it will be 20 years from now when your kids are grown?  How important do you think it will be in 40 years from now when you are older and so are your kids?  How important will it be 60 years from now to your children?

For me, being in my 30's and no longer having my Dad with me, I wish I had something like this with my family back then!  Yes we have photos of some of us in front of Stone Mountain, well 3 of us, someone had to take the picture.  Yes we have pictures of us visiting Pikes Peak, again 3 of us.  Many other places too but never something that was taken just to hang on the wall, just to display and then save for later years.

I am sure that is the same for many families back then and now!  It is time to make a change!  Family portraits are something that should be put on the top of your list.  If you can't do it every year, then do it every other year.  Kids grow fast, too fast!  I know this too well!  My oldest is about to be 16!  YES 16! It is crazy!

In his almost 16 years of life we have had 3 family portraits.  THREE and I am a photographer!  Yes I have taken pictures of him alone almost EVERY month from the time he was born or with his brother and sister, but never a full family portrait.  I never thought of putting myself in the mix, always some reason why I didn't want to be in the picture. My husband, now that is a different story.  Let us just say he takes great photo bomb style pictures.

Below is our last family portrait.

Soon you will see the current one.
