I have a confession....I was guilty of not having a current family portrait. Yes, a family photographer who couldn't seem to get a family portrait. Always finding a reason why we couldn't all be in the picture. When I did want one something would come up and my husband would have to go to work or one of the kids was sick. Then when we had the time there would be other reason like: I didn't like my hair, or I was tired from my other job. So last week I scheduled my family a time for portraits. Yes I had to schedule portraits with myself. It didn't turn out the way I saw it in my mind's eye, but it is a family portrait of all 5 of us!
Took a total of 2 minutes to gather my family and take 4 pictures with my remote to capture this. |
The last time we had a family portrait was a few months after my father passed away. That is when I felt I needed a family portrait, I thought to myself " what if something happened to me, what if something happened to Josh? Wouldn't my kids like to have a picture of all 5 of us to look back on"
This picture was taken by my Mom just a few months after my father passed away. |
Remember your family portrait isn't just for you. It is for your kids, for your grandkids. No one will look back and say, oh Grandma was over weight here, or look at his smile he needs braces. They are going to look back and say "what a nice family portrait"
