Love my new studio......

I love my new studio space!   There are a few things that still need to be moved out of the room and a few things that I need to get, but I love having everything set up all the time again!   Here is a picture I took of one of my own kids while testing out my lights before the newborn session the other day.

I need to get a few more background colors, right now I only have blue, yellow, a blue and white damask one and a old wood siding look.  Which was on my blog a few days ago. 

I am loving that old suitcase prop I purchased at the Sturbridge Antique Shops a few months back.  I also purchased that old bucket that I have on my last blog post.

My studio isn't open yet for a few more weeks, but I am doing a few sessions here and there with my friends kids while I adjust to studio life again.  It has been 2 years since I had a studio space and it takes some time getting use to it all again.  So I am getting friends to come over with their kids, or themselves, to be models for me while I adjust, going from all natural light to studio lights again is fun for me.  

Here is the first newborn session in my new studio.  :)  He was a deep sleeper as long as he had his clothing on.  As soon as we tried to pose him in just his diaper, he wanted nothing to do with it anymore.

If you know someone who is going to have a baby and they are in the Sturbridge area.......send them my way.  I am doing a discount on newborn portrait sessions. Baby must be under 10 days old and they will need about 3 hours of time for this session.  The newborn special is $30* and you will get one 8 by 10, one 5 by 7 and 8 wallets.  After September 1st the price will go up to $75 for newborn sessions and will not come with prints.  So if you know someone who is due before September 1st send them my way.  You can't get this style of newborn portraits for this price anywhere!

Spring, what should I wear for my portraits?

Spring here in New England.  It is a beautiful time of year!   I will have some sessions at Green Hill Park and my studio!  Before every session I get asked "what should I wear" or "what should my child wear".    Here are a few outfits that I think are great for these Spring Portraits!

Q&A

Question 1: Where do you photograph your sessions?

I am a studio and location photographer, so I am very flexable about where your session can be. We can work in my studio, your home, a park, the beach, and more.


Question 2: How much do you charge?

Studio Session Fee $30

Location Session Fee $50

Bellies to Babies Session Fee $80

Studio and Location Fee $70


Session fees do not include prints.  Prints can be purchased by collections or separate.


Question 3: Do I get to keep all of the photos from my photo shoot?

You can purchase the proof book and proof CD for only $15.  The pictures will have my logo on them and you may use the CD to put the images on to your social network page.


Question 4: Can I print my own photos?

You can purchase a CD with rights to print up to an size 8x10 photo but I don't sell it alone, you must purchase prints first.


Question 6: Do you do any creative editing/artwork to any of the photos?

I can do creative editing, prices vary.  If it is just a name block photo it is a $20 fee.  If it is making your little girl look like she is a fairy princess flying in the sky that one is charged by the hour at $20 an hour.  Normally those photos take 3 hours for me to edit.

Why pick me as your photographer?

I take the time with each picture to make sure my subjects look their best.


Here is an example of minor blemish removal:

In the above photo I brightened the photo, popped the eyes, defined the eye lashes, removed scratches that the baby had on her face and cleared away some of the fly away hairs.  All that was included in the session fee.  Removal of blemishes are done after your print order selection.  I will brighten all photos and pop eyes and define eye lashes before I post your gallery.  Then once you pick your print order I will go back and remove any small blemish. Once that is complete your photos are posted into a new gallery for your final OK before printing your order.

Left is sooc.....this one didn't need much, but this type of editing is not included in your session fee.

I don't care how thin you are everyone has a little something in the middle when they sit down. I smoothed it out just a bit. This type of editing is $20 extra.

 

Those are just some of the things I can do.  I always want to make my photo subjects look their best and that is something I strive for with every session I do.  I eat, breathe and dream photography.  It isn't just a job for me, like it is for some photographers.  For me photography is art and I am an artist.  I get joy with every session, with every picture.  I love it.
