day 12....she is out for BLOOD!!!!! I love halloween fun!

day 11

well I am not 100% happy with this one but had to give up for the night....only give myself an hour to edit Halloween photos.  If I would have started before lunch I could have worked on it for an extra hour...but waited to take the picture after lunch.

day 10.....tried an hdr photo..

Think I may have bumped the camera between a few of the shots...but 1st try not bad...made it black and white because I bumped it and you could see it more in color than b&w.

day 9.....a "happy" halloween photo...

My daughter, who is 6, doesn't really like my creepy Halloween photos that I enjoy so much! So she wanted me to take a picture of her and have it be a "happy" Halloween photo...so here it is!

day 8....the day of Zombies!!!!!

This one is a little on the gory side.....but it was inspired by the Zombie walk that some of my friends on Facebook went to today!

My son came home sick from school today....once he felt better he wanted to help me with one of my 31 days of Halloween photos....... It started out he was going to be a zombie but after looking at the 10 images I took of him, we went a different way.... No I didn't sew his mouth shut in real life...it is just photoshop!

This one was a fun one.....a lot of dark makeup to make shadows.  A little photoshop fun to sculpt the face a bit, change hair color, eye color and increase the texture of my skin.  All to make me look like the witch from Snow White.  

I love Halloween fun!   Hope I can keep up these ideas until Halloween.

Oh October...how do I love thee, day 1 of 31......

My 7 year old son came to me the other day and told me how much he loved fall.    He asked me "Do you know why I love fall Mom?", I replied "no, I don't know.  Why do you love fall?".   His answer back made me laugh a bit. "I love fall because all the leaves turn yellow and orange.  Plus October is in fall, and you know what that means......CANDY!"  

I love October too but not for the candy....I love it because kids get to use their imaginations and pretend to be something different.  Who am I kidding here...I dress up still too!

I hope everyone knows or is close to knowing what they want to be for HALLOWEEN!

:)  I am so happy fall is here!  This is, by far, my favorite time of year.  The air is crisp, leaves are changing color and some are already falling.    Perfect time of the year for family location portraits!   $50 location fee and can be at any park in or near Sturbridge!   Green Hill Park is always a wonderful spot!  Westville recreation area is also a nice spot for portraits.   Even the Sturbridge Town Common!   Remember the $50 doesn't included print credits.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend!!!   This weekend for me was a busy one!   My daughter celebrated her 6th birthday at Chucke Cheese's with some of her classmates!  It was her first "real" birthday party!   She loved it!

I wanted to remind everyone about my special right now.....

To dress up or not dress up this year.....OK here it goes you will now find out my age!  ahhhhhh oh well.....I have dressed up for Halloween all 32 years of my life.....I have not gone one year without some sort of costume for Halloween.  It might of been something little like a wig and crazy makeup to something crazy like coloring my skin to look like Urkle (yes I did that when I was 12).   For the last 14 years I have dressed up either as a witch or tinkerbell.  Think this year I am going to go as something different.   Sometimes I think I am getting too old to dress up for Halloween but then again I enjoy the fun of it with my kids.  After all they love it too!

31 days of Halloween......

Every year since 2008 I have done a project where I make 31 days of Halloween photos!  I love it!  It lets me bring out all my photoshop skills!  I can edit these photos to be over the top and that is something I love doing!   Most of the time the main subject is me but this year I hope to find some models for this.

Happy Tuesday!!!! I hope everyone is having a great day so far!  I wanted to let you know I have posted a special on my facebook fan page....I just purchased 2 new floordrops and 1 new backdrop and was so excited I made a special just for my studio sessions.....so visit my facebook fan page today to see more!


On another note I have added a few images from my past 31 days of Halloween project on my etsy shop plus 2 prints of some of my paintings.

Good Night Irene..........

From the time I was 5 until I was 12 I would go over my Grandma's house when I was sick so my Mom could go to work.   She would keep me busy by watching the Price is Right and we would crochet together.  She would work on her blankets and I would make squares and pot holders.  I am not 100% sure when she taught me...maybe I was 8.    When I would go over there just to visit, which we did almost weekly back then, I would make more.  It was something we shared.

Just last night around 10:30pm she passed away.  Irene Herbst only 92 years young, would have been 93 at the end of this month.    

I am now putting down my knitting stuff just for this month and working only with crochet hooks.  So you will be seeing lots of crochet flowers and hats posted, plus I will have lots of crochet props.  Blankets, hats, flowers to pin on shirts or put on clips in hair.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Want to wish my baby girl a Happy Birthday!  I can't believe she is 6 years old now.    Crazy how fast years can go by but then when you want to speed things up minutes will feel like hours! 

So far I have spent almost the entire day with my daughter.  I painted her nails then she wanted curls so I curled her hair.  Sadly the curls didn't stay long.  We picked out party invites and booked her birthday party.  She asked for balloons so we picked out 6 balloons.  She wanted birthday pictures with the balloons and a lolly pop. So when my kids ask for pictures I love it.  Normally they don't want their pictures taken because I take them every 3 months or more. 

This first picture she didn't like the idea of being outside for the pictures so she gave me this face and some others that I promised her I wouldn't post.  Then I asked her what she wanted to do and she said "in the studio".

So then we went into my studio and took the ones she wanted.

Rain, rain go away come again another day.........

There is just something about the rain, sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it!    When I lived in Florida it would rain for about an hour then it would let up, but not here in Massachusetts!    When it rains......it rains for days! Today makes day 3 and the weatherman says it is a 20% chance of rain tomorrow!  I can only do so much in the house...so today when it stopped for a bit, first time in 3 days, I went outside to have some fun!

After 3 days of rain......the sun isn't out yet, but no raindrops fell on me during my walk.  Some of these images will be for sale on my etsy shop!
